Boy Scouts across the United States live their lives by a very simple motto: “Be prepared.” Perhaps Bart “Bartimus” Palaszewski should consider becoming a Scout Master. Having been part of the fight game for a long time, he’s used to having to be ready anyplace, anytime to put on a show for the fans. Recently, at WEC 39, “Bartimus” was scheduled to take on Richard Crunkilton with a shot at the WEC Lightweight title at stake. But as the MMA game goes sometimes, Crunkilton had to pull out the week of the fight with an injury.
Exit weeks of strategy preparation, enter newcomer Ricardo Lamas. But even though Bart could have asked to have the bout postponed, like a true gladiator, “Bartimus” refused to back down.
Bart now finds himself with the tables turned. Fellow SuckerPunch stable-mate Anthony “Showtime” Pettis was scheduled to make his WEC debut on April 5th in Chicago, but suffered a broken hand. Stepping in for him on short notice will be none other than “Bartimus.” Now the beneficiary of short notice, Bart plans on making good on this opportunity, showing his loss to Lamas to be a fluke, and getting back on track for a crack at the WEC Lightweight belt.

About new opponent Anthony Njokuani, “Bartimus” says “I think it’s a great matchup for both of us,” Palaszewski said. “My main game is the stand-up, and so is his. He’s a phenomenal Thai-boxer, so we just have different styles of stand-up.
“I’m looking for a war, and I think I finally got one. I’m sure he’s going to be ready to bring it. He’s a tough dude, and he’s just so unorthodox and tall at 155 pounds – it’s ridiculous. And like I said, he’s got phenomenal Thai boxing. It’s going to be a fight for sure.”
We would like to recognize TapouT, Jesus Didn’t Tap, BFN, Critical for supporting the stars in the SuckerPunch stable. It’s sponsors like these that truly help evolve this sport.
